So this was my daughter and our next-door neighbor. He actually does modeling and loves taking pictures. On the way to the shoot my daughter started getting upset about something, he says to her, "Don't cry, we are going to take pictures" very seriously. I just had the idea of the two of them on a skateboard with a brick wall. But with these little dynamic personalities you never know what you'll get. But they did awesome! I tried to just let them interact and capture these three-year-old's funny friendship. The green wall photos aren't great because of the bright sun, but they are still fun. I do love the brick wall ones, they turned out just as I imagined.

Well, this was my first newborn shoot. And I am pretty happy with it. Of course there is still plenty I wish I could fix and do better with. Color is a bit tricky with newborns, especially since I combined flash and natural light it was hard to get the proper white balance. And that is why I love black and white. It was tricky since our beautiful newborn didn't feel like sleeping, and who would with the paparazzi in her face. But I do love the curiosity and awe in her eyes, though. So that is a trade off. The greatest thing was she loved being in her sister and brother's arms. It was so sweet. I forget what it is like holding a newborn, doesn't make me want one of my own but you truly appreciate life seeing it at it's earliest beautiful beginning. Holding her just made my heart melt. I am so glad I got to do these photos.

This is my bother-in-law and family, my little nephew is so cute, I had a ton of great ones of him. He really did a great job. This was a fun location they showed me, they had been there before with a photographer. Lots of different backgrounds but it was crazy, there were so many other photographers just in that hour that we were there, we had to wait just to get a certain spot, crazy. I didn't really like that. But it was fun and I got good photos.

This was a great shoot, the colors worked really nice together. And the family was super easy to work with. The shoot went really fast and it was just a great day. I used my 18-200mm which I think helped go even faster being able to zoom out and get more diversity in my shots, although there was more chance for blur with the longer lens, still working that out. But I really am happy with this shoot, and such a sweet family. Love the tree tunnel.

This was a fun family shoot. She definitly knew what she wanted, which really helps give the clinet exactly what they are looking for. Her boys are gorgeous, but it was a challenge with the three youngons getting them all looking and smiling while doing all the other photog stuff I have to think of, metering, exposure, lighting, composition, posing and what not. Hopefully all that will become second nature so I can concentrate more on my subjects. But these boys really did amazing, for how young they are, excellent little models. My fav photo is the top, Dad with baby, I'm thinking it might be one of my all time favorite shots. Dad was a good sport about that.
