penelope & harrison

I love having my own personal models, however they aren't always as keen on the idea of yet another photo shoot, so I usually wait until they are in the mood. Penelope loves playing in the studio, and choosing her props and backdrops. She could do that for hours. Locations are a lot harder especially when there are things as cool as ducks nearby. Harrison is still warming up to the idea , but usually he can't stand to be to far from me, he'd rather be on the other side of the lens with me. Which is so hard because he has such a great smile, that I am trying to capture it in a great shoot one of these days.

My friend wanted to get photos with her family and her mom. It was great getting the photos of the kids with Grandma, so sweet. We had such fun lighting with the sunset and the location was awesome. It's so nice that they let us shoot here. I can't wait to shoot here in the spring with the blossoms!! I really enjoyed this shoot, the kids did great, it was super easy and fun! This is the same family I did at my favorite urban location, and I am so happy I did them again, because I am so much happier with these images. On the first image, just playing with some vintage actions, looks so fun! I am so sad it's getting so cold, I love shooting outside, using natural light. Maybe this winter I'll get some fun snow photos.

This is my ridiculously gorgeous nephew who turned two on Thanksgiving. We shot his photos in the morning in the midst of our feast preparations. He was such a good sport especially since recovering from being sick. I love these photos and he loved the giant lollipop, who wouldn't?

This was a fun session, a little crazy with all the little ones, but I am really happy with how they turned out. It was hard to pick out ones to post. Four of the kids belong to the mom in the photos, and one is a cousin. The dad is deployed in Afghanistan right now. And it just makes me so grateful to have my husband home now. He has been back almost a year and a half since his deployment. I love military families and their sacrifice. And I loved doing this session for them and their Daddy, I hope he likes them.
